WORCESTER Warriors Women will host a Sepsis awareness day this weekend featuring celebrity guests.

On December 1, Warriors Women will run the day in partnership with their new main partner the UK Sepsis Trust and will include live entertainment from DJ Joel Corry, feature'd on ITV's Love Island and local singer/songwriter Ben Hughes.

The day, which sees the Warriors take on Bristol Bears Women for a Tyrrells Premier 15s fixture, will also feature a range of family activities including a climbing wall, bungee trampoline and two fire engines on display.

There will also be the chance to experience 'StreetVelodrome' a pop-up cycling track emulating Olympic races, as well as a tag rugby tournament.

The main aim of the event is to raise awareness of sepsis, while also aiming to set a new women’s rugby UK attendance record.

The event’s origins come from the personal experience of Worcester Warriors Women’s player Jemima Moss, who contracted Sepsis last year.

Though she required intensive care and suffered multiple organ failure, Jemima made a full recovery and with the support of the team is now back to full fitness. Jemima will be playing at the event for the Warrior’s development squad.

Following from this experience the UK Sepsis Trust is now the main shirt sponsor of the Warriors Women’s team.

The UK Sepsis Trust will host the ‘sepsis family’, including staff, ambassadors, fundraisers and supporters, in a dedicated Sepsis Lounge where its charitable objectives and 2020 fundraising opportunities will be presented.

The day will also incorporate the Trust’s ‘Schools Against Sepsis’ programme.

Tickets cost £5 and are available on warriors.co.uk/tickets or 01905 459309.
