A FURRY fundraiser is on the cards at a Bromsgrove opticians in aid of Guide Dogs this weekend.

On Saturday, November 2, Specsavers on the High Street will be welcoming pup-resentatives and their human companions from the charity to talk about the amazing work they can do with a little support from the local community.

There will also be a colouring competition, challenging Bromsgrove youngsters to draw their favourite dog, with categories for ages 10 and under and ages 11 plus.

The grand prize for each category will be a cuddly pooch, and there is also a runner-up prize up for grabs.

Entry to the competition will be in return for a £1 donation, with all proceeds going directly to Guide Dogs.

Specsavers Bromsgrove store director Mark Gibson said: ‘Guide Dogs is such an incredible charity, their work is truly life-changing for the visually impaired.

"We’re really proud to be supporting and are so grateful to them for coming along on the day with a couple of their new recruits.

"We hope to see lots of friendly faces in store on the day to help us raise money for this brilliant cause and can’t wait to see the artworks we receive in the colouring competition – I have a feeling it will be a difficult one to judge."
