A FORMER Worcestershire county cricketer has been banned from the game for two years after failing to report approaches by a bookmaker.
Shakib Al-Hasan, who played for Worcestershire in 2010 and is the captain of the Bangladesh national side, was banned by the International Cricket Council after failing to report being approached by a bookmaker in 2018.
He admitted the charges and received a two-year ban, with one year suspended.
The 32 year-old will be clear to resume his international career in 2020.
