A SUBSTANTIAL investment has been put into a Droitwich transport and warehouse firm, allowing it to expand and improve its facilities.

Potter Space, which owns and operates business parks across the company, has invested £500,000 in facilities leased by WH Bowker on its Droitwich business park in Kidderminster Road.

WH Bowker, which provides transport and warehousing services, has 250,000 sq ft on the 38-acre site and required a temperature-controlled storage facility for its client Akzo Nobel to store its specialist motor paints, which are used by the likes of McLaren and Aston Martin.

As well as investing in work to improve the building at the site, Potter Space, which is based in Ripon and operates five business parks across the UK, is also investing in a new 36-bay car park, which will free up space to develop and expand the estate.

Jenna Strover, Potter Space’s project manager, said: “We pride ourselves on our ability to work closely with our customers to ensure they are happy with the service and facilities we provide, and where possible we will invest in order to deliver any improvements or renovations required to help them grow their business.”

The Droitwich business park, strategically placed in the heart of the West Midlands and within easy reach of both the M40 and the M6 motorways, has been owned by The Potter Group for more than 30 years.

It was originally used by the Group’s logistics business, which was bought by WH Bowker in 2016.

Other tenants include Advanced Glass (Worcester), Ask Chemicals, Carrs Coatings, Chloros Environmental, Volker Laser and Biffa Waste Services.

Rob Barker, property director at Potters Space, added: “The £500,000 investment made perfect sense to both parties.

“WH Bowker gets an improved facility that will help it gain more valuable business from one of its most important customers, while we have opened up a new tranche of land that has the potential for a significant expansion of the existing business park.”

In addition to Droitwich, Potter Space also has business parks in Ripon, Knowsley, Ely and Selby.
