THE speed limit on the A49 north of Holmer Road could be reduced.
Highways England, who manage the A49 trunk road which runs from the north to south of the county through Leominster and Hereford, could be extended past a new housing development.
The 30mph limit would run 393 metres north of the roundabout with the A4103 Roman Road.
"As part of the planning consent for the construction of 50 dwellings north of Church Road, it is proposed to extend the existing 30mph speed limit on the A49," a Highways England spokesperson said:
"(It will be extended) for a further 22 metres to include its junction with the access road leading to and from the dwellings, for safety reasons."
