A NEW mobile phone app will make it easier for families to explore and learn more about Hereford, say Hereford City Council who have funded the scheme.

The council said users of the Love Exploring mobile app will be able to follow trails in the city, discover hidden secrets and areas of the city that people may not know about.

Children will be able to test their dinosaur knowledge with the dinosaur safari and have their photo taken with a dinosaur thanks to augmented reality on Bishop's Meadow, Castle Green and Cathedral Close.

Current sculpture and heritage trails a blue plaque trail, Widemarsh Street trail and the Breinton Springs circular trail, but more will be added over time.

Mayor of Hereford, councillor Kath Hey, said: "The new Love Exploring app we are launching in the city is a fantastic addition to the current walks and trails we have in Hereford.

"The interactive element provides information and makes discovering the city fun and interesting.

"We hope it will be enjoyed by both residents and tourists alike."
