AN elderly woman has died after collapsing on a street in Lye.
Medics, including an air ambulance, were called to Talbot Street in the town centre just before 11am this morning (August 12) following reports a woman had collapsed and was in cardiac arrest.
Despite the best efforts of medics, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 10.54 to outside Tyre Centre on Talbot Street to reports of an elderly woman who had collapsed in the street and was in cardiac arrest.
"Despite undertaking advanced life support sadly it was not possible to save the woman and she was confirmed dead at the scene."
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a Midlands Air Ambulance critical care car and a Midlands Air Ambulance attended the scene.
