TWO men have appeared in court charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis after police seized plants from a van in Evesham.

Nabaz Mohammed and Saman Ahamadi were both stopped in a van containing 170 cannabis plants in Evesham.

Both men appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday with the assistance of Kurdish Sorani interpreters. Ahamadi, aged 38, of Norton Street, Bolton denied being concerned in the supply of cannabis on September 20 last year.

Mohammed, aged 42, of Trem y Glyn, Porth, Mid Glamorgan admitted the same offence and will be sentenced after Ahamadi's trial.

The case was placed in a warned list which means the trial could begin any time in a three week period beginning on December 2 this year. The trial has a time estimate of two days.

Both defendants were granted unconditional bail.
