SNEAK thieves stole jewellery from an elderly couple in Hereford.

An intruder entered the kitchen of their home in Hoarwith Road on Friday (July 26) and pointed at the couple's boiler.

They heard a knock on their window. The intruder then walked back out of the house and down a side passage, where he was joined by a second man.

The men then left, but when the victims, who are in their 70s, checked the house shortly afterwards they noticed a number of traditional items of jewellery and a black bag were missing.

One man is described as tall, and of mixed race. He was wearing a black summer hat, brown T-shirt, black trousers and black fabric-type shoes.

The second man was thought to be shorter than the other, possibly white, and carrying a black bag on his back.

Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area who witnessed the incident or who saw anyone matching the descriptions.
