Fake £50 notes have been used at shops in Hereford and Ledbury.
Police have issued a warning to retailers and businesses after the counterfeits were handed over on Saturday.
Officers said the fake notes were used at three premises on the Old Market in Hereford.
The main suspect was described as a white man who was in his early 20's. He had dark hair and wore a grey top.
Meanwhile, Ledbury's Safer Neighbourhood Team said a counterfeit Scottish £50 note was used on the town's High Street.
The police said the note has a faint watermark, no silver strip and no hologram.
