A HEREFORD couple will celebrate 60 years of marriage this month.

Originally from Preston, Lancashire, Geoff Rawcliffe moved to Hereford in 1956, meeting Deanne at a dance at the former Redhill Hostel.

The diamond anniversary couple married at St Martin's Church in Hereford on July 18 1959, and moved into a bungalow just off the Ross Road, where they still live 60 years on.

Geoff worked as a sales representative for Lever Brothers for 38 years, and Deanne was a receptionist at the Ross Road branch of Moorfield Surgery for over 20 years.

Over the course of their marriage, they have enjoyed more than 50 years together on stage with the Hereford Gilbert and Sullivan Society, of which Geoff is now the President.

Both Geoff and Deanne are active members of St Martin's Church and the Hereford Twinning Society, while good health enables them to enjoy their family, walking, swimming and travelling.

They have three children, Deborah, Claire and Andrew, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild, and will be marking the big day with a family holiday to the Greek island of Kos.
