A COUPLE’s relationship has reached new heights after a spectacular Glastonbury Festival proposal.

Sarah Adams said she was in shock when a plane flew over the Pyramid Stage on Sunday afternoon towing a banner saying “Sarah Adams Marry Me? Joe”.

“Joe pointed up for me to look,” the Leigh Sinton resident said.

“I was a little confused, at first I thought there must be another Sarah Adams getting proposed to.

“My friend had to tap me on my shoulder to turn round and look. Joe was down on one knee, with a ring. I was in shock, taken aback by what was happening.”

As the plane took four trips above the festival crowds the 27-year-old, who is a planner at Worcester-based Lion Court homes, fell to the ground and instantly said yes to boyfriend Joe Blain. Hugging her new husband-to-be moments later Kylie Minogue stepped on stage to perform her classic hit, Love at First Sight.

“That worked out perfectly,” she said. “She was brilliant for the legend festival slot.”

Ms Adams said she was kept in the dark about the whole proposal, which Mr Blain first began planning for two months ago.

“There was only a 15 minute time slot available (at 3.45pm) when it had to be done,” Ms Adams said.

“It was a complete secret, we went with friends. Everyone knew apart from me. It was surreal.”

Ms Adams said her fiance, a supermarket manager, was “an old fashioned romantic”, but she joked she usually planned everything in their relationship.

Mr Blain chose the Glastonbury venue for his proposal as it is one of Ms Adams’ favourite places, making her ninth visit to the world famous event in Somerset at the weekend.

Ms Adams added: “We will definitely have a festival themed wedding now. We haven’t got a date but it will be in the next couple of years.”
