Fisherman’s Tail is setting sail on a return voyage to Edinburgh’s Fringe, but before that, 4Front Theatre will be performing on home territory, in Worcester.

Following a successful run at the Fringe in 2018, hearty, all-age, actor-musician musical, Fisherman’s Tail is returning to the Royal Mile in the Scottish capital, but before then there’s a a diary date at the Huntingdon Hall.

A spokesman said: "Fisherman’s Tail is a foot-stomping, family-friendly, actor-musician musical about four rough and ready fishermen whose everyday lives are blown out of the water when they are caught up in the whirlwind that is Jesus’ life and miracles.

"Filled with humour, fun and fantastic original songs played live on stage, by 5 talented and versatile actor-musicians.

"It’s fast-paced, with lobster pots flying left and right, actors swapping instruments mid-songs, and sea-shanty harmonies tighter than a bowline knot, as four humble fishermen come to grips with their new-found vocation as disciples."

Critics have been enthusiastic, with one observing, "Deftly crafted, The Fisherman’s Tail is, (for those with or without religious affiliations I hasten to add), a dramatically sound piece.

"Its songs are heartwarming, life-affirming foot-stompers!”

The spokesman added: "When people think of the disciples they may think of holy figures and stained-glass windows, yet in reality, Simon, Andrew, James and John were unrefined, simple fishermen.

"Ordinary folk with an amazing tale to tell, and we don’t want this story to be confined to the pews of churches. So, we’re excited to bring that tale to life with a whole host of toe-tapping original songs."

4Front Theatre have been touring the for the last few years around churches, schools, prisons and community venues "with fun, life-affirming and usually musical shows.".

It comes to to Huntingdon Hall, Deansway, on Saturday, July 27.
