THE Redditch Orchestra will be presenting s a Last Night of the Proms concert to celebrate their 70th anniversary as part of Bromsgrove Festival.

Featuring a mixture of animal inspired pieces including Carnival Of The Animals and music from The Lion King, as well as traditional Last Night Of The Proms favourites such as Jerusalem, Land Of Hope And Glory and Rule Brittania it is promising to be a wonderful evening (with plenty of joining in) for all ages.

Rachel Longfils-Bento, flautist with Reddtich Orchestra, said: "I'm really looking forward to playing the flute solo, with Lizzie Peacock playing harp, in Mozart's lovely Concerto for Flute and harp.

"The concert is showcasing some great animal inspired music, including Carnival of the Animals – ‘a grand zoological fantasia’ where we introduce the sounds of a number of wild and tamed animals, birds and fish before the whole Zoo turns up for a final chirp, bray, cackle and roar.

"And we’ll be playing some of the Proms favourite sing-a-longs with Land Of Hope and Glory, Jerusalem and Rule Brittania.”

Along with the group’s leader and arranger Graham Longfils, Redditch Orchestra welcomes conductor James Lloyd Thomas for this celebratory concert.

Tickets for Redditch Orchestra Last Night Of The Proms, on Sunday, June 30 at 7pm, are £12 per person (£10 for concessions and £3 for under 16).
