HIGHWAYS chiefs say they have no plans to review any safety features of Cathedral Square after a van careened off the road and crashed through a window at Pizza Express.

Worcestershire County Council described the crash as an "unfortunate but isolated medical incident" and said they had no plans to investigate the issue further.

The driver crashed through the window after first knocking over a bollard, set at the edge of the square.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said they took the man to hospital after the crash at around 8am on Tuesday and were told by passers-by they believed he may have passed out at the wheel.
