A MAN arrested in relation to an attempted dawn raid at a city home has been released under investigation.
The 29-year-old, from Coventry, was arrested on the Wednesday following the incident in St Peter’s on Tuesday morning.
Jacob Thompson and his fiancée were able to thwart two balaclava-wearing burglars after they crow-barred open their front door in Stroma Avenue just after 5am.
The homeowner, aged 24, described how he looked into the eyes of one of the men for around 30 seconds before they both fled and drove off in a blue SEAT Leon.
Mr Thompson said: “They’ve used crow-bars, and both had weapons of some description, metal poles or something. I don’t know what they would have done.”
He does not believe they set foot into the house, after his partner, who did not wish to be named, banged on their first-floor bedroom window, frightening the burglars.
