ANIMAL lovers are being invited to join Blue Cross for a special tea party in aid of homeless, unwanted and abandoned pets.

Cakes and tea will be served at the centre in Catshill on Saturday, May 18 from 9am to 1pm.

There will also be fun games and a raffle.

Neil Edwards, centre manager at Blue Cross in Bromsgrove, said: “We hope to see lots of visitors at our Paws for tea event this year and for everyone to enjoy a slice of their favourite cake and a refreshing cuppa – all in aid of pets needing our help.

"It’s the purr-fect way to raise money and every penny really does make a difference.”

Visitors can also take part in the centre's annual sponsored dog walk.

Two routes offer a shorter mile-long walk (suitable for younger children and those with disabilities) or a longer walk stretching to 4.5 miles for those wanting more of a challenge.

Sponsorship forms can be collected from the centre or walkers can pay £5 on the day.

This year's series of car boot sales also kicks off on May 18 from 9am.

These will continue every fortnight through the summer until August 24.

For shoppers in Bromsgrove, the Blue Cross charity shop in Bromsgrove High Street will also be hosting a Paws for Tea event on May 18.
