A CARAVAN appears to have been mysteriously dumped in Bransford, with a note left outside reading "Free to Collector".

Esme Munslow said she first spotted the large caravan parked in a layby near the Fox Inn in Bransford Bridge on Friday, with the note appearing over the weekend.

Miss Munslow said: "I travel past the layby four times a day for work - it'll be a nuisance to the burger van that normally parks there, and lorries that park there overnight.

"I had a brief look around it with my sister whilst explaining the situation (to police), they said the officers would come to examine it in the next couple of days, otherwise it will be a council matter to remove it.

"It must have been towed there illegally because all tyres were muddy and flat."

Miss Munslow, who lives in Malvern, said it appeared someone had been living in it until recently.

"The whole lock had been unscrewed on the door, the bottom part of the door broken," she said.

"Nothing was mouldy, damaged or dusty, there were new toiletries, clothes hung up. It's full of clothes, new cutlery, new and clean glasses - seems strange."

Alan Dearden, the Fox Inn's general manager, said it was unusual as it was not an area known for flytipping, and nothing similar had happened before.

West Mercia Police was unavailable to comment.
