GARDENERS in Wyre Forest can take advantage of a springtime brown bin offer from Wyre Forest District Council’s depot.

All new garden waste customers from Monday, April 29 to Friday, May 31 will receive a tray of plants, with a retail value of £10 which includes four pots of mixed herbs and two strawberry plants.

A full year’s subscription to the service costs £49.50 per annum for a large 240-litre bin, and £34.00 for a 140-litre bin with a one-off £20 fee on sign-up.

Grass cuttings, hedge and shrub clippings, weeds, cut flowers, leaves, twigs and bark can be collected.

Existing customers can also benefit from 20 per cent off a garden waste or household Jumbo Bin. To hire, visit wyreforestdc.gov.uk/jumbobinhire.

Linda Draycott, corporate director of community, wellbeing and environment at the council, said: “The garden waste service is very popular with residents. It saves time, money and the inconvenience of taking your garden waste to the tip.

“All garden waste collected is turned into compost, so it is also good for the environment, and all income generated from the garden waste service is invested into front-line council services to benefit all who live, work and visit Wyre Forest.”
