A HAGLEY football coach has organised another charity football match which is taking place in the village this weekend.
Stourbridge dad-of-two Neil Gibbons, a youth coach for the under 9s at West Hagley FC, has organised the event, taking place at Haybridge High School, Hagley, tomorrow (Sunday March 24) in aid of Mary Stevens Hospice in Oldswinford.
Last year’s event raised more than £700 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Neil said: “I'm hoping to raise a similar amount this year for Mary Stevens Hospice and hoping to get as many people along as possible to support the match and then back to West One who have given the function room for free for the presentation and raffle draw.”
The match, which kicks off at 2.30pm, will see coaches take on parents of Hagley West FC players and Neil added: “After last year’s highly contested match it appears that it will be an annual event with the opportunity for the club to raise money for local charities.”
There will also be a post-match presentation afterwards at West One – which is a sponsor of West Hagley FC.
