A FORMER Parliamentary candidate is walking the Worcestershire border to raise money for a mental health charity.

Daniel Walton, who was Labour candidate for West Worcestershire in 2015, is walking between 25 and 30 miles per day to raise money for Onside, which supports people with learning difficulties and mental health issues.

Mr Walton, 42, who runs an outdoor equipment company and lives in Martley, said he was enjoying the challenge so far, which started on March 18 near Redditch and will take him through Tenbury, Malvern and Evesham in a circuit.

He said: β€œIt is a challenge but it is something I really feel is worth doing. It has been tough but I am fairly fit and have always enjoyed walking. I have only had to deal with a few blisters so far. It is really rewarding to be able to make a difference to a charity like Onside and raise the money for them.”
