A BRIERLEY Hill man stole £30 of chocolate from a convenience store, Dudley Magistrates’ Court has heard.

Wesley Smile, aged 30, of Chapel Court, Brierley Hill, pleaded guilty to two counts of stealing chocolate from One Stop Convenience Store, worth £9 and £23. He received a conditional discharge for 12 months and was ordered to pay £52 in surchages and compensation.

The following cases were also heard at Dudley Magistrates’ Court last week.

Mark Cranston, aged 21, care of Hawbush Road, Brierley Hill, pleaded guilty to damaging a computer monitor belonging to Midlands Heart and threatening a police officer that he would burn down part of a building belonging to Midlands Heart. He received a 12 month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £100 in compensation.

Marcin Wierzejewski, aged 47, of Halesowen Travelodge, pleaded guilty to possessing a four inch lock knife in public without good reason or lawful authority. He received a three month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Kieron O'Grady, aged 25, of Brook Street, Wordsley, pleaded guilty to driving in Brierley Hill without insurance; driving while disqualified from holding a licence and possessing cocaine and cannabis. He was jailed for 18 weeks because of the seriousness of the offence and holding similar previous convictions. He was also ordered to pay a £115 surcharge and is disqualified from driving for 24 months.

John Orford, aged 29, of William Street, Brierley Hill, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath when requested by police; possessing cannabis; driving without insurance and driving without a licence. He received a Community Order and must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and is disqualified from driving for 20 months. He must also pay surcharges and costs totalling £270.

Samantha Truslove, aged 29, of Wellington Road, Dudley, pleaded guilty to breaking a criminal behaviour order by entering Dudley high street and stealing £30 worth of coffee and chocolate from Poundland. She received a Community Order and was ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge.
