MADAM - I was concerned when I read in the Advertiser that ‘Bromsgrove is among the cleanest places to live in the Midlands - and that’s official’, as I understand there are some areas of the district that continue to be monitored for significant NO2 levels, AQMA (Air Quality Management Areas) sites.

They may not exceed the level of average annual concentration of 40 ug/m3, but are still higher than are beneficial to health. I feel the statement is misleading and will lull people into a false sense of security.

We need to be aware of the effect even these amounts can have on our children and urge the local authority to do all it can to reduce the toxic nitrogen dioxide levels, especially at the hot spots of Lickey End, Worcester Road and Redditch Road, Stoke Heath, all AQMA sites.
