A NEW Kidderminster pub and carvery is set to open its doors on Monday, introducing more than 80 jobs to the town.

Larch Wood Farm will bring a traditional daily carvery, 'cakeaway' bakery, separate family and adult dining areas and indoor children's 'distraction zone' to the old sugar beet factory site in Silverwoods Way.

Farmhouse Inns Dining and Carvery invested £4m in Larch Wood Farm, which is named after the The Larches land where the pub is built.

General manager Ben Schrieber, from Kidderminster, said: "We’re really looking forward to opening our doors and welcome in our new guests.

"It’s been fantastic to be able to create so many jobs in the local area, and we’re still recruiting as we’ve got a few vacancies left in our kitchen team."

Larch Wood Farm is separated into an adult dining, and family dining area which includes children's toilets, a baby's bottle warming station, and a children's 'distraction zone'.

The play area is split into a younger children's farmyard zone - with sensory play, Go Go Pony ride and film screen - and an older children's area with air hockey, grab machine and Xbox.

There is a daily carvery, run in conjunction with the main menu, as well as a bakery selling handmade cakes including a foot-long eclair, vanilla slice 'pillows' and 10 flavours of ice cream.

The bar features three cask ales, a range of lagers and ciders and a gin and whiskey display.

"We offer a vast range of tasty pub classics as well as a traditional daily carvery, starting at as little as £4.99, with a fantastic choice of fresh vegetables and 14-hour slow-cooked meats," said Ben.

"To finish we’ve got the ultimate indulgence, our freshly baked homemade cakes, which are made onsite every day, to eat in or takeaway."

Larch Wood Farm will open its doors to the public on Monday, March 11, after a soft launch this weekend.
