SINGERS from a Bromsgrove school will be performing at the Royal Albert Hall after claiming first prize in a national junior choir contest.

Talented choristers from Bromsgrove Preparatory School recently won Barnardo’s National Choral Competition at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

They triumphed out of 18 junior choirs from across the country.

As the winning choir, Bromsgrove Prep will have a specially commissioned piece written for them by prolific composer and conductor Douglas Coombes, which they will perform at The Royal Albert Hall later this year.

Bromsgrove Prep’s Head of Music and Conductor Michelle Corrie said: “I am absolutely thrilled for the children that they had this amazing opportunity to be involved in something so special, and in doing so, helped to raise money for the Barnardo’s children’s charity.

"Winning the junior choir category was the icing on the cake."
