A FUNDRAISING choir has been on song after scooping a massive sum for a good cause in just six months.

Primrose hospice choir travelled around north east Worcestershire putting on shows which raised £5,000 for the charity.

The choir was launched in 2000 and now has more than 50 members.

David Burrell, Primrose Hospice CEO, said: “They are brilliant ambassadors for the organisation, support our events and raise important funds to help sustain the essential services we provide.

“Often they are the icing on the cake for our events: they were certainly that at our Lantern Walk where the setting and ambience was enhanced by their wonderful sound.”

All the hospice services currently cost £1.75 million per to run.

Kay Hadley, Primrose Choir’s musical director, said: “Many of the choir’s members have joined after losing someone close to cancer and wanted to put something back into the hospice.

“Our main two aims are to enjoy singing and to help fundraising for the hospice.”

Primrose Choir’s next public performance is on Thursday April 11 at Parkside in Bromsgrove.

Tickets cost adults £10 and children £5 and are available by calling Kay Hadley at 01527 546158 or the Primrose Fundraising Team on 01527 889796.
