AN inspirational Hereford tutor was nominated for a prestigious teaching award.
Adele Jones, History and Psychology Tutor at Hereford Sixth Form College, was nominated for the University of Oxford’s Inspirational Teacher Award.
Her name was put forward by former student Adam Wilkinson-Hill, and although Adele did not win her work has been praised by the University.
Each year a selection of first-year Oxford undergraduates are asked to nominate those who inspired them to apply or fostered their passion for a subject.
Dr Samina Khan, Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach at Oxford said: “We were extremely impressed by the crucial role Adele played in raising her students’ aspirations and in fuelling their enthusiasm for their subject.”
Adele was presented with a certificate of nomination.
