MALVERN Town FC is hosting its latest charity night with an appearance from former Manchester United star Lee Sharpe.

The event features a meal, after-dinner speaking by Sharpe and comedian Jamie Sutherland and the club is aiming to raise over £2,000 for Acorns Children's Hospice.

Ade Platt, who is organising the night, said: "We have done fundraisers for the club in the past but I decided it would be nice to do something for charity, especially a worthy cause like Acorn's

"If you are a football fan then this is the night for you, I understand Lee Sharpe does great after dinner speaking with some great stories so if you want a night with football, a bit of comedy and a good meal then this is the right night.

"We have got a real top-drawer fish and chip van coming to provide the food so I'm sure it will be a great night."

Mr Platt also said he was hoping to sell around 150 tickets for the event, adding: "I'm sure we will sell-out the event, but as long as we raise some cash for charity I will be happy."

'An Evening with Lee Sharpe' is at Malvern Town Football Club on April 4. See the flyer above for information on how to buy tickets.
