A WORCESTER chip shop will be reopening today after a fire on Thursday night.
Firefighters were called to the Bull Ring chip shop in St John's after a fire at around 5pm that night, and the chip shop has been closed ever since.
Chip shop owner Ginda Lola, who confirmed no one was hurt in the fire, said: "It was only a small fire, but it caused a lot of damage.
"We have been cleaning up, and equipment has been tested, and they are now back up and running.
"We have had to turn customers away while we have been cleaning up, so as a thank you to them we are offering 10 per cent off on Saturday, when we reopen at 5pm.
"We also want to thank the firefighters, we appreciate everything they did."
A Worcester News reader sent us a picture of smoke coming from the chip shop, after the fire with the incident lasting around an hour.
