The WYRE Forest Model Railway Club are bringing back a charity model exhibition after an absence of many years to delight enthusiasts.

The Mayoral Model Railway Exhibition will be held at Kidderminster Town Hall in the Corn Exchange on Saturday January 26 between 10.30am and 4.30pm.

The revival of the event lies in an initiative by the Mayor’s of Kidderminster and Bewdley, Councillor Martin Stooke, and Councillor Roger Coleman respectively, who both have a keen interest in model railways.

The event will raise money for the mayoral charities which include Guide Dogs, Alzheimer’s Society, Forest Dog Rescue, Worcestershire Prostate Awareness Group and Rory the Robot Prostate Appeal.

Councillor Martin Stooke, Mayor of Kidderminster said: “The newly formed Kidderminster Town Council welcome such exhibitions and events which help promote the Town, and we are delighted to welcome Wyre Forest Model Railway Club to the Town Hall.”

Councillor Roger Coleman, Mayor of Bewdley said: “Both my charities and Martin's are quite different and yet in joining together we help promote them all, our towns foster a great hobby enjoyed for over 100 years. Today's model railways as a hobby incorporate the latest computer technology, developing young and old minds alike.”

Entrance into the event costs £3, and children under 12 can go for free when accompanied by an adult.
