A VETERINARY nurse from Stourport is launching her own 'puppy preschool' to help local owners to socialise their pets and meet like-minded dog lovers.

Francesca Field, 22, will host the weekly Puppy Preschool parties at Stourport Riding Centre's log cabin in Hartlebury Road every Tuesday, starting January 22, from 7pm to 8pm.

The sessions will include a preliminary health check and teach owners basic puppy first aid and training, handling skills and advice on their dog's behaviour.

Francesca told The Shuttle: "I'm a veterinary nurse and used to do doggy parties when I worked at a practice in Kidderminster.

"Now I go around different practices and noticed that a lot of places don't do these kind of events.

Kidderminster Shuttle:

"Puppy parties are really important to allow dogs to socialise before they get to 16 weeks of age.

"The Puppy Preschool will provide a clean environment for puppies to meet other puppies before they have their vaccinations.

"It's also great for owners to meet other owners and share tips in an informal setting."

The sessions are open to puppies from nine to 16 weeks of age and cost £10 per party.
