A HAUNTING performance of Phantom was held at a Worcester school.
The ancient Perrins Hall at RGS Worcester was transformed into the Paris Opera House for the School’s performance of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’.
Pupils put on a series of six performances of the Lloyd Webber’s musical, which is amongst the most popular musicals of all time.
The show was sold-out over two weeks in advance and an additional matinee performance was provided for year six pupils from local primary and prep schools.
Upper Sixth pupil Bertie Pryke put in an anguished portrayal of the Phantom, while Beth Rabjohn as Christine gave a memorable performance and sang the very demanding part well.
Pupils of all ages played in the orchestra including former pupil Ellie Morgan who played on the school's organ.
John Pitt, the school's headmaster, described the performance as “extraordinary and magical” and a parent wrote to praise the performance, saying: “If you closed your eyes you could have easily imagined you were sitting in a theatre in the West End.”
