A PLUS size model has been crowned Miss International curve.

Sian Yapp, 29 from Evesham competed in the pageant for plus size women, Miss International Curve on Saturday, October 20. Aswell as winning over all Miss Yapp also won Miss Best in Interview, Best in Traditional Wear, and Best in Evening wear.

Miss Yapp was able to compete against beauty queens from different countries, representing the UK after winning Miss British Beauty Curve in August. She also won

Miss Top Model, Best in Glitz and Glam and Best in Swimwear.

Miss Yapp who now lives in London has many responsibilities: "With both titles I have to represent the brand at any type of event , I also have to do some charity work and I have chosen to help the homeless. I am also working on a body confidence campaign which I am hoping to launch in April next year."

Miss Yapp said: "When I was younger, what I saw in the media was promoting one beauty ideal and anything other than that was un acceptable. I remember seeing pictures of all over the media of one specific thing and knowing that I wasn't going to be that.

I want young people to have someone to look up to so they can see someone who shows them that whatever you want to do, the way you look and your ability shouldn't be something that holds you back.

By the way you look, that's not just size but whether you are in a wheelchair, whether you have a stick, your ethnicity, or even your sexual orientation. This should never hold you back. "

Miss Yapp said magazines would mainly show beauty as "more slender bodies and Caucasian looks."

"But even so, they would ring circle their flaws such as stretch marks and cellulite, which is actually something a lot of people have, so that causes a lot of problems, especially for people who are not in a strong state of mind."

"It is important that it is understood that there are multiple body types and you should be happy with what you have. Our outsides are a very small part of who we are and we should be concentrating more on our personalities rather than what we look like."
