WYTHALL based Becketts Farm is once again acting as a collection point for much needed essentials for St Basils youth homelessness charity this Christmas.

The family run farm is asking customers and the local community to help donate where possible, to help boost the impact the campaign will have over the festive period.

A spokesman from the farm said: "Running from December 3 to 22 any donation however small will be highly appreciated.

"The company will be accepting long life foods, hygiene products, gift sets, towels, kitchen essentials and new bed linen for the #sheetsnotstreets campaign. Note all of these must be new and unused products."

These can be dropped off in the Becketts Farm Restaurant.

Hannah Baldwick, marketing and events manager at Becketts Farm, said: “Each year we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our staff and customers in this appeal and we are sure that 2018 will be no exception."

St Basils, a Birmingham-based charity, help homeless young people and families from 34 supported accommodation locations.

Every year more than 1,500 young people are housed in the supported accommodation they run.

Barrie Hodge, from the charity, said: “Many of our young people come to us with nothing but the clothes on their back, these essential items (plus the odd luxury or treat) that people donate helps them on the road to living a self-sufficient life with a much brighter future.

"The donations given by the very generous customers of Becketts farm make a massive impact on the lives of our young people.”

Becketts Farm has raised hundreds of pounds for the charity throughout the year.
