A SPECIAL edition of the Worcester News this Saturday will mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.

A 16-page special publication on the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice agreement, on November 11, 1918, will wrap around the Worcester News this Saturday.

The supplement will feature articles on how Armistice Day was marked in Worcester and around the county, the role of the Worcestershire Regiment in the Great War, the aftermath of the conflict locally, and look at the tragedy of one particular young soldier who died just days before ceasefire.

As well as this, there will be articles on the national picture on November 11 in 1918 and the consequences still felt today in our nation.

Authors who have contributed to the supplement include Worcester News stalwarts Mike Pryce and Rob Hale, historian and journalist Elizabeth Ann Smith and Discover History duo Helen Lee and Paul Harding.
