FOUR-legged friends and their owners will create a one-mile trail of neon lights in Wolverley this weekend to raise money for charity.

Greyhound Trust Hall Green have organised a Neon Dog Walk at Bodenham Arboretum on Saturday, November 10 - and around 100 hounds are expected to take part.

Each pooch will be wearing a neon collar - available to purchase on the evening - to create a spectacular light display along a one-mile stretch of the arboretum.

Tracey Parbery, from the Greyhound Trust, said: "We’re very excited about Saturday’s event and hope to raise some much needed funds for The Animal Cancer Trust and MacMillan Cancer Support.

"We think it will be a great way to raise awareness for these very worthwhile causes and our gift for all the amazing work they do. I’m sure it will also look pretty amazing too."

Profits from the fundraiser will be split between The Animal Cancer Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The walk begins at 5.30pm from the visitor centre. Participants do not need to have a dog to take part.

Bodenham Arboretum owner James Binnian said: “The Neon Dog Walk is a great initiative from the Greyhound Trust and we’re delighted to be able to play host.

"Some 100 neon dogs walking around should be quite a sight too. We’re very much looking forward to it.”

Tickets cost £7.50, including a light supper, and are available to buy at ticketsource.co.uk/bodenhamarboretum.
