FROZEN sisters Elsa and Anna will be heading to Blackheath town centre 'For the First Time in Forever' this Christmas.

A host of characters from the hit Disney film will be among the attractions at the town's Christmas lights switch-on next Saturday (November 17).

In addition to the Frozen favourites, there will be live music, Bhangra, a funfair and Christmas market in the High Street from 4pm onwards.

The Deputy Mayor of Sandwell will switch on the lights at 6pm.

Oldbury town centre's Christmas lights will be switched on a day earlier, at 6.30pm on Friday, November 16.

November's other festive switch-ons will take place in Langley High Street, Oldbury on Friday, November 23 (6.30pm) and Old Hill's Holy Trinity Church on Saturday, November 24 (5pm).

Cradley Heath town centre's switch-on is set for Saturday, December 1 at 5.30pm.

It will feature a funfair, charity stalls and a Santa's Grotto from 4-7pm, all on the High Street.

The Christmas lights on Londonderry Road, Bristnall, will be switched on the same day, at 6.30pm.

Sandwell Council’s deputy leader, Councillor Syeda Khatun, said: “We have 13 light switch-on events around Sandwell this year to get people in the Christmas spirit.

"I'd like to thank the community associations who are running some of the events, which have been funded by the council.

"I hope everyone really enjoys themselves and gets to as many events as they can in the run up to Christmas."
