A MOTHER has urged parents to be vigilant after a man tried to abduct her 11-year-old son.
The suspect attempted to lure the boy into his van outside Lloyds Bank in New Road, St John's, Worcester, at around 4pm on Monday.
The mum said her boy was waiting at a bus stop in his school uniform when a driver, described as white and aged between 35 and 45, parked next to him and waved for him to get in the vehicle.
She said the man followed her son when he walked away, although her boy managed to eventually lose him.
Duty Inspector Peter Isanga said: "Thankfully the boy wasn't taken but it sounds like there was an attempt. We are investigating."
Anyone with information can ring police on 101 quoting incident number 545s of October 22.
