PEOPLE will have the chance to view plans on how Worcester could look in 2040.

Those interested can go to CrownGate shopping centre on Saturday to see the plans and talk to experts.

Consultation is already underway on the draft City Centre Masterplan, which sets out ideas for new transport routes, parks and public spaces, housing, business premises and a £385 million annual

boost to Worcester’s economy by the year 2040.

Now some of the designs for how the city centre could look are set to go on display in the Friary Walk area of CrownGate, at the top of the escalators, from 11am to 2.30pm.

Council planning officers will be on hand to answer questions about the masterplan proposals and to discuss how residents can feed their views into the consultation.

The draft masterplan includes proposals for the creation of 8,610 new jobs, 3,137 new homes, 14km of new cycling routes and nine new parks, squares and public spaces.

Residents can have their say on the plan at worcester.gov.uk/masterplan.

The deadline for responses is 5pm on November 7.

The masterplan has been prepared by Worcester City Council with Worcestershire LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) in consultation with stakeholders including Worcestershire County Council,

landowners, businesses, the education sector, public bodies and others.

Responses to the consultation will be evaluated and taken into consideration as the city council works towards formally adopting the plan in January.

Once the final version of the plan is adopted, it will provide a planning framework and guidance for public and private investment. The aim is to ensure Worcester becomes an even more

attractive place to invest, work, live and visit.
