A HONEYBOURNE woman is relaunching a Slimming World group in the village after successfully losing almost 80lbs.

Wendel Morrison, aged 50, said she began struggling with her diet following the loss of her mum when she was just 12.

She said: "I was generally eating well but didn’t know how to strike a happy balance to keep my weight in check as emotional eating got in the way.

"A few of my friends had successfully lost weight using the Slimming World food optimising plan and with my confidence at an all-time low, I joined my local group, even though I was very apprehensive to start yet another diet."

Over the weeks that followed, Mrs Morrison got to grips with her new eating regime and she started to lose weight – shedding 5st 8lbs.

Mrs Morrison looks forward to going to her Slimming World group meetings where they exchange recipe ideas and celebrate success.

She said: “In group I learned so much about myself. There were times where the honesty, trust and openness of my fellow members meant that they were at times able to say the things that I couldn’t.

"I still love to go to group every week, to see my friends there, to share with them and support them but it also makes sure that I prioritise this as ‘time for me’.

"It keeps me focused on what is important to me and it helps me plan for the week ahead. We have a lot of fun and it is a privilege to see my fellow group members achieve their dreams too”.

Mrs Morrison will relaunch the Honeybourne Slimming World group on the November 1. To find out more, you can call or text her on 07960 381 257 or go along to Honeybourne Village Hall on Thursdays at 5pm or 7pm.
