SIX dedicated members of staff will celebrate a diamond anniversary of service at Evesham Dogs Trust.

The Wickhamford-based rehoming centre has been caring for and rehoming dogs since 1967.

In that time, the rehoming centre has built strong relationships with the public and is well-known throughout local communities across Worcestershire and Warwickshire.

The longest serving canine carer is Tracy Marshall who has been part of the team since February 1995 and has worked for Dogs Trust for more than half her life, originally starting her canine career as work experience.

She said: “The last 23 years have flown by but I have loved every minute. I love playing a part in seeing so many dogs find their happy endings and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

"I now tend to work with the dogs who need a little bit of extra help with their training and behaviour and I find it so rewarding when the dogs I have worked with and rehabilitated find a forever home with a perfect family.”

Since the rebuild was completed, the rehoming centre has more space to host to additional staff including supporter relations officer, Shauna Stedman who has been with Dogs Trust Evesham for 22 years, regional training officer Annie Swift, dog school coach, Jen Protheroe and vet nurse, Julie Norman who are all celebrating a year with the charity this month.

Assistant manager Emma Bragginton, who lives on-site at the rehoming centre, is celebrating 12 years of service after starting as a canine carer back in 2006.

Chris Slight, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Evesham, said: “We are incredibly lucky to have so many dedicated members of staff here at the centre and we want to thank them for their hard work and commitment over the years.

"Sixty years service is a long time but I think this is a testament to how well the team works together and shows their passion for the wellbeing of dogs.

“The centre has gone from strength-to-strength over the years and our rebuild means that we have more space for staff to work and train dogs, as well as perform surgery on-site in our new vet facility.”
