A TOURING theatre company has dropped into a Cleobury school to develop the use of French.

Pupils at Lacon Childe welcomed the F lying Theatre Company, which performed its play Vive La France.

The company provides plays for secondary school pupils in English, French and German and has been touring across Europe for the last 15 years to break down cultural barriers through the use of language and drama.

The performance was presented to Years 7, 8 and 9 to promote their knowledge of French.

Vive La France tells the story of a brother and sister living in rural France and the company invited the audience to interact in French with the actors to enhance the story.

Headteacher Allan Gilhooley said: “We aim to look for a variety of ways for the pupils to explore a subject and the opportunity to experience this French theatre was welcomed by the students and enjoyed by all those who attended.”
