GARDENING CLUB: At the July meeting Adrian James from Kidderminster stepped in, for which we were most grateful at short notice.

His talk was on `Exotics in the Garden'. The talk was a good insight to anyone wishing to venture into the world of exotics. A lot of plants can be grown in British gardens during our summer times. The plants will not make it through our wet, cold winters, so they need shelter from the elements. They need to be put into pots to over winter in the greenhouse in frost free conditions. It was a wonderful display of slides a lot taken from his garden.

Saturday, August 19, will be the Summer Garden Show for the club. Show opens at 2pm all proceeds to County Air Ambulance. Wednesday, August 23, speakers Yvonne Mort and Pauline Blackburn from Newton, will give a talk on Flower Pressing.

Clows Top and District Gardening Club meet the fourth Wednesday in the calendar month at Clows Top Victory Hall; doors open 7.30pm, for the speaker at 8pm. There will be Refreshments, Raffle and a Plant Stall.

Non-members are very welcome.
