THROUGH your columns, we would like to thank all stewards, programme sellers, dressers and all the other people who have given so much of their time, to ensure that this year's Festival was well run and appreciated.
The commitment and enthusiasm of so many people during the festival period is repaid by the comments and compliments from members of the audience, who mention the good appearance, helpfulness and pleasing manner shown by stewards, even when handling difficult situations which arise occasionally.
We are sure that the Festival for this year has been very successful, in respect of the Shakespeare play, and also the variety of other events. This success, with increased audience, creates more work and effort for the stewards and other volunteers.
The Festival has the use of some 200 volunteers throughout the two-week period, and there is no doubt that such help is necessary for its continuing success.
We are always pleased to have the help of new volunteers, and anyone interested should contact us at the Festival office on 01584 875070.
Ray Sykes and Roy Coles,
House managers,
