NO Idea is a ‘devised theatre’ and comedy piece about how we instantly judge people – and how wrong we can be!

The show is devised and performed by Lisa Hammond and Rachael Spence, of the Improbable Theatre Company, drawn from real-life encounters that Lisa and Rachael had with members of the general public when they went out on the streets armed with microphones and a lot of questions.

On stage, they re-create some of these interviews in a humorous mix, somewhere between documentary and stand-up, verbatim and improvisation, and the result is revealing, touching and very, very funny.

“We know we are not supposed to make judgments or assumptions based on the way someone looks, but of course we do anyway,” said Lisa. “So not only are we making these judgments, but we can’t be honest about making them so we pretend we don’t, which just ends up making them harder to deal with.”

There are no easy answers to this conundrum, but witnessing two true friends navigate their way through it makes you believe that there’s definitely hope.

Lisa and Rachael are bringing No Idea to Ludlow Assembly Rooms on Friday, April 30, at 8pm. To book, call the box office on 01584 878141.
