CHILDREN at Ludlow Infants School impressed council officials with their knowledge of waste disposal.
Environmental maintenance officers from Shropshire Council visited the school to promote the importance of putting litter in the bin.
More than 120 children took part in the event and impressed officers with their understanding of landfill and the issues involved.
The children were issued with gloves, tabards and litter pickers and taken out on a clean-up, being awarded certificates and stickers after collecting eight bags of rubbish.
Kate Adams, street scene manager for the area, said the council often visits schools to get the message across.
