LOCAL playwright Bev Jenkins, who was awarded an associate place into the internationally- recognised Guild of Drama Adjudicators in 2007, has now been accepted as a full member.

Members of GoDA’s council rigorously assessed her knowledge of literature, technical knowledge and stage craft. They also examined her adjudication skills at the Teignmouth AETF Drama Festival in Devon.

The guild, whose patron is Sir Alan Ayckbourn, was founded in 1947 and is the longest established organisation of its kind. Members must have extensive experience of amateur and professional theatre.

Bev, from Orleton, has adjudicated around 350 plays and productions and has travelled the UK and Europe to deliver her deliberations.

Last year, she judged the European Youth Festival in Brussels and she recently accepted an invitation to judge in Germany next year Bev, who works as a speech and drama teacher at Moor Park School, near Ludlow, is one of GoDA’s youngest members and has joined the elite team of around 40 full GoDA members.
