A RECESSION-busting Clows Top business that has achieved record turnover despite the economic downturn has signed a major distribution deal with a Dutch partner.

M&M Timber employs 70 people at its sawmills at Clows Top and last year recorded a £6 million turnover, its best ever.

In what it describes as its biggest deal ever, M&M has reached agreement to distribute Hillout, Holgard and Outdoor Life products.

“This is the biggest and most significant announcement we’ve ever made,” said Nigel Poyner, managing director of M&M Timber. “M&M Timber now has the enviable position of having a huge range of timber garden and leisure products that is unrivalled and quite simply second to none. It will, without doubt, have a far reaching impact on the UK market.”

M&M was founded 30 years ago and is one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of machined round timber and a leading supplier of timber products for fencing, landscaping, garden furniture, playground surrounds and play area equipment.
