A CELEBRITY encounter has left a lasting impression on the owners of a village bookshop.
Elderwood Books, based in Brampton Bryan on the Herefordshire and Shropshire border, served as the official bookseller at this year’s Ludlow Food Festival.
During the event, BAFTA-winning TV presenter and Celebrity MasterChef alumnus Sam Nixon visited the bookshop’s stand for a signing, delighting both the team and festivalgoers.
Rachel Buchanan, co-owner of Elderwood Books, said it was lovely to meet Sam and see festivalgoers connect with him and his new book.
"What a lovely person he is, positive and full of energy," she added.
"We wish him much success with the book and will be supporting him and his independent publisher by promoting it in our shop after the festival."
Mr Nixon was at the festival for a cookery demonstration on Sunday, September 13.
He announced on Instagram earlier that day that his debut cookbook, Autumn Recipes from the Heart, for a Heartwarming Season, had become a Sunday Times bestseller.
Polly Shepherd, the shop’s other co-owner, said they were particularly pleased to learn that the festival was the first time Mr Nixon had seen his book in a bookshop setting.
Elderwood Books opened in April, taking over the premises from long-standing owners Sarah and Sheridan Swinson.
The shop was previously known as Aardvark Books and is located on the Harley Estate.
