HOPES have been raised of progress on a landslip-hit road, with a "great deal of activity" set to hit the site.
Councillor Justin Bowen said a "renewed focus" has been established for works on the B4204 near Upper Rochford, which was forced to close around five months ago after a landslip left the road impassable for motorists.
Coun Bowen, along with fellow councillors and West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin, have been pressing the county council for months over the lack of visible progress, but Bowen has now reassured that things are moving forward with the project set to go under the Major Projects Team, despite a "frustrating" few months.
He said that he was told a Topographical survey team will be "moving in", and this will be followed by a geotech assessment of both the highway and the land.
"Design Teams will then use these reports to begin their work on a solution. Additionally, at September 24 Cabinet Meeting," he said.
"I'm informed there will be a formal request for funding.
"It's been a frustrating few months, but there is a sense that we might finally see some progress.
"Either way, I'll keep pressing for communication and action, along with district councillor Duane Hubbard for Tenbury."
The road first collapsed on February 6, with earlier speculation that badger tunnels combined with continuous rain may have been the reason for the damage.
Worcestershire County Council has previously said that repair options could include slope stabilisation, installation of retaining structures, ground reinforcement, or full reconstruction of the damaged section of the road.
